Stephanie Lang Bittner, Co-Founder of The Movement Study, has been training private clients and facilitating instructor certification programs in New York City and the tri-state area for 20+ years. Her weekly clientele includes professional dancers athletes and Broadway performers and she has advised hundreds on managing chronic issues and recovering from traumatic injuries. She carefully customizes ongoing wellness programs for those suffering from conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, Multiple Sclerosis, cancer, and strokes; as well as spinal conditions including scoliosis and fusions. Stephanie brings her insights to women during and after pregnancy. Her vast knowledge enables her to make adjustments to any wellness program - even for those with special needs. She is acutely aware of the effects of trauma on the human body and spirit and her keen awareness of healing through MOVEMENT guides her now in her treatment of so many others.
Stephanie received her Pilates certification from the Kane School. She is a certified Level 1 GYROTONIC® Instructor and holds her pre and postnatal certification from the Center for Women’s Fitness. She is also certified in Core Align, Redcord, and Bodhi Suspension Programs. Stephanie is a guest teacher for Boys Dance 2 and Kanyok Arts Initiative where she teaches anatomy, biomechanics, stretching, and strengthening techniques to dancers between the age of 8-20.
Stephanie has always been a mover. She began dancing at the age of three and received her B.A. in Dance from Point Park University. She performed in both the Broadway and National Touring Companies of CATS and was a Radio City Rockette for ten years performing at Radio City Music Hall. Stephanie has worked as a Director/Choreographer for many regional and international events and shows and was an adjunct professor for the Steinhardt Vocal Performance Masters Students at NYU.
Stephanie opened The Movement Study, a NYC-based movement and wellness studio, with Monica Mordaunt of Mordaunt Movement in August 2024. Together, they collaborate to connect their community through movement. Stephanie navigates the work-from-home evolution by teaching movement virtually across the globe. She continues to work with in-person clients daily as well as teach education workshops to movement practitioners. Stephanie maintains her busy practice indulging in self-care and hanging out with her awesome son, Cooper!
